| Meet Sheree Cockrell! Local Artist. |
 admin writes, "Have all of you seen the beautiful new murals on the building in Downtown Connellsville and wondered who is painting them? Why that would be none other than Connellsville native (or Connellsvillian as we like to call them) Sheree Cockrell. Please continue reading to learn more about Sheree."

Sheree's passion for art was discovered at an early age. While in second grade, Sheree's teacher informed her parents how talented she was. The teacher always made Sheree help her with the bullentin boards.
I recently asked Sheree how she learned to her beautiful technique:
"My parents begin running me to two different instructors for my many years of oil painting. By my senior year, I was taking art classes at Frostburg State College on the weekeend. My farovite subject for many years were our horses. I still love to paint them! I love color, nature, water, these our usually what inspires me most. "
Lately, Sheree has been inspired by a group of hard working people who are trying hard to make some postive changes in Connellsville.
"I was first introduced to these people when ask if I would be willing to paint a mural. Many of these people work at the Redevolpement and Planning Authority. In a time when people are having difficult times with the economy, I feel it is more important to try and make positive changes in our community. This is what I have found with this group of individutals. They inspire me and give me a such of purpose. Could you imagine what a wonderful place this would be if everyone did one thing to help make our community a nicer place to live!"
Sheree's prefered meduim is oil and she is an impressionist!
